To Carbohydrates Can Kill
About This Reading List:
While I was looking for relevant literature for citation in Carbohydrates Can Kill, I kept the URLs of the best I found. Going back online via this list was very convenient when I needed to review these resources. I’d like to thank those people who spent so much time and effort in making this information available online for researchers.
A list of references is often provided at the end of a book for the readers to find interesting articles, books, and other writings for further related reading. Before online research was available the readers could not easily do so, even if they wanted to. In early 2007, when I had finished more than 50% of my writing, I felt that I was obliged to pass on all my interesting information to my readers.
During the months of January and February 2008, I worked day and night to organize a 100-plus-page reading list that includes the articles and their URLs, if available. My goodness! What a waste, if I placed the list at the end of my book.
I decided to place the reading list online to trim the book volume and its price. The interested reader can browse through the list, and click on any article’s address to view it. Of course, I cannot guarantee that every article’s URL will be available all the time. Hopefully, the publishers and organizations who placed their articles online will keep them available for more researchers and readers to benefit from them in the future.
A few dozen articles appearing in italics are cross-referenced in multiple categories. I also numbered each article using the same convention that I used for reference in my discussion in the the last chapter of the book. The numbers of the articles in the book are the same on this reading list. Please use this list for your reference when you read that chapter.
Finally, I hope you like this list. I urge you to let the publishers and organizations know of your appreciation for their generous contributions to public education by making their articles available online.
Robert Su, M.D.
